Set the key in your shell without putting it in the command history when possible, then add the remote HTTP server:

--header "Authorization: Bearer $LISTENINGKIT_KEY"Check the connection:

Claude Desktop can use mcp-remote to bridge its local configuration to the remote HTTP endpoint. Add this to claude_desktop_config.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"listeningkit": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"-y",
"mcp-remote",
"https://<your-deployment>.convex.site/mcp",
"--header",
"Authorization:${LISTENINGKIT_AUTH}"
],
"env": {
"LISTENINGKIT_AUTH": "Bearer lk_api_REPLACE_WITH_YOUR_KEY"
}
}
}
}On Windows, the usual file is %APPDATA%\\Claude\\claude_desktop_config.json. Restart Claude Desktop after saving the file.
Do not commit this file if it contains your key. Revoke the key from the ListeningKit API page if it leaks.
