OpenAI agents

There are two different OpenAI surfaces people often call “OpenAI MCP”:

• An OpenAI Agents SDK or other MCP-capable application that you control.
• ChatGPT custom connectors.

The first can connect if your client supports remote Streamable HTTP MCP servers and custom authorization headers. Configure it with:

Endpoint: https://<your-deployment>.convex.site/mcp
Header: Authorization: Bearer <your ListeningKit API key>

Use the OpenAI SDK documentation for the exact client constructor and transport option for the SDK version you are using. Keep the ListeningKit key in the server environment, not in a prompt or source file.

ChatGPT status

ChatGPT custom connectors are not supported by ListeningKit yet. The current connector flow cannot send the required Authorization: Bearer lk_api_... header. Use Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Hermes, or your own MCP-capable OpenAI agent client instead.
